I currently work on a large-scale mobile banking platform serving more than one million users across the UAE.

I work daily with AI-assisted development — Claude Code and Cursor are part of my toolkit for exploration, implementation, debugging, refactoring and documentation — while engineering judgment and code quality stay at the center.

    • Work in a large-scale Nx monorepo containing 60+ packages, 16 feature modules and 30+ service modules.
    • Architect vertical-slice front-end modules across Payments, Loans, Credit Cards, Crypto trading, KYC and Onboarding.
    • Implement scalable API and state layers with Redux Toolkit and RTK Query, including caching, optimistic updates and offline-first behaviour.
    • Integrate mobile security and payments: SSL pinning, biometrics, ThreatMetrix fraud detection, Apple Pay, Google Pay and RAKToken authentication.

Principles

How I approach engineering.

Build for the user.

Technology matters when it makes the product faster, clearer, safer or easier to use.

Keep architecture understandable.

Good architecture should make teams faster, not make simple problems look impressive.

Design for production.

Think beyond the happy path — performance, errors, security, maintainability, releases and real users matter.

Automate repetitive work.

Use tooling, reusable systems, generators, CI/CD and AI-assisted workflows to remove unnecessary manual effort.

Keep improving the system.

Refactoring, reviews, standards, observability and documentation are part of product development — not cleanup for later.

I'm Mubashir Jabbar, a Senior Software Engineer based in Lahore, Pakistan.

Over the past seven years I've worked across mobile, web, fintech, banking, communication, logistics and retail products — from early product development to large production systems serving more than a million users.

My strongest experience is around React Native and modern front-end engineering, but I care about the product beyond the framework: architecture, APIs, performance, security, release workflows, maintainability, user experience, and how engineering teams work together.

I enjoy solving difficult product and engineering problems, exploring better tools, and continuously improving how software gets built. AI-assisted development has become another tool in that workflow — I use it to accelerate exploration and execution while keeping technical decisions grounded in engineering fundamentals.

Outside engineering, I enjoy exploring new technology, problem solving, and snooker.
